For full-time veterinarians, associate veterinarians or staff, or vet tech students
Funding is open to anyone in the veterinary community who lives or works in a county named as a FEMA disaster area and suffered a disruption in their work life or personal life due to Hurricane Helene or Potential Tropical Cyclone 8. These grants are intended to help the veterinary community recover from the disaster to be able to continue to serve their communities. Grants will be available until dispersed.
Application for Veterinary Community Grants (available to anyone who worked in a veterinary practice at the time of the disaster.)
Criteria for eligibility:

Must be a licensed veterinarian, licensed veterinary technician, or staff member employed full-time (30 hours per week minimum) at a veterinary practice located within a county recognized by FEMA to be in the disaster area relevant to the application. Proof of employment will be required.

Or must be a veterinary student or veterinary technician student enrolled in-person, full-time in a professional veterinary education program located within a county recognized by FEMA to be in the disaster area relevant to the application. Proof of enrollment will be required.

No proof of expenses is required. Applicant must submit proof of employment or enrollment in a veterinary tech program at the at the time of the disaster (dollar amounts may be hidden if using a paystub).

Applicant cannot receive more than one grant from the NCVMA or Friends of the NCVMA for the same disaster or within the same calendar year.

Only one application may be submitted per individual.

Grant recipients are responsible for complying with all rules and restrictions associated with other grants, insurance, and state and federal disaster programs.
- Grants will be awarded up to six months after the event, or when the funds are expended, whichever comes first.
