I just logged in. What should I do first?

Start with My Profile. Confirm your membership status, check that your profile is visible, and complete any missing fields.

Profiles that are hidden or incomplete may not appear in directories, searches, or communities. If something looks incorrect, contact NCVMA staff before renewing or registering again.

How do I log in or reset my password?

Your username is usually the email address associated with your NCVMA account. If you forgot your password, select the “Forgot Password?” link on the login page to request a reset email.

If you do not receive the email, check your spam or junk folder and allow a few minutes for delivery. If it still does not arrive, contact the NCVMA staff so we can verify your account information.

How do I check my membership status, including employer-paid membership?

After logging in, your membership status appears in My Profile. Some employers or organizations pay for NCVMA membership, which may be reflected on your account as organization-paid membership.

If your status looks incorrect or you are unsure whether your membership is paid through an employer or organization, contact the NCVMA staff before renewing on your own so we can review your record.

The system is asking me to renew or pay again. What should I do?

Do not submit a second payment yet. This often happens when a membership is already active or paid through an employer or organization.

Contact NCVMA staff so we can review your account and help avoid duplicate charges.

What is the difference between NCVMA and the NC Veterinary Medical Board?

The North Carolina Veterinary Medical Association (NCVMA) is a professional membership organization that provides education, advocacy, and member support. The North Carolina Veterinary Medical Board (NCVMB) is the regulatory body responsible for licensing, renewals, complaints, continuing education approval, and disciplinary matters.

Questions related to licensing, CE approval, or professional conduct should be directed to the NCVMB.

Why can’t other members find me?

Your profile may be hidden or incomplete. Hidden profiles do not appear in member searches or directories.

Go to My Profile to check visibility settings and profile completeness. If you believe your profile should be visible and is not, contact NCVMA staff for assistance.

How do I find and connect with other members?

Use Member Search under the Community menu to find colleagues by name, location, or organization. From a member’s profile, you can add them to your connections to make messaging and follow-up easier.

How do communities and discussions work, and how do I manage emails?

Communities are groups focused on shared interests or topics where members can ask questions, share experiences, and participate in discussions.

You can view, join, or leave communities from the Community menu. Email preferences for community discussions are managed in your profile settings, where you can control frequency or unsubscribe from specific updates.
